Senju Clan of the Forest

This clan along with the Uchiha clan founded the leaf village. They have the power to manipulate the forest and wood through a Kekkei Genkai known as Mokuton. They have the power to manipulate bijuu due to their life giving chakra. They all have a birthmarks and when they are around woodland elements like trees and bushes and such, they will become more powerful, like a conditionary curse mark. (+5 chakra genin, +7 chuunin, +9 Jounin, +12 Sannin, +15 Kage). The Senju clan of the Forest is one of the most, if not THE most, feared clans that have ever come into existance. Their battle prowess is the match of the Uchiha clan, and the two clans have been constant rivals since their very founding.

History

The Senju clan is descended from the younger of the two sons of the Sage of the Six Paths. He was born with the "body" of the Sage, inheriting his father's strength of will and physical energy. The Sage's younger son believed that love was the key to bringing peace to the world. The Sage grew to favour the ideals of his younger son over those of his older son, who believed that power alone was the true key to finding peace. Therefore, on his deathbed it was the younger of the two brothers that the Sage chose to name as his successor. The elder brother, bitter and hateful at having being denied what he felt was rightfully his to inherit, attacked his younger sibling. The Uchiha clan would descend from the elder brother, resulting in the bitter centuries-long rivalry between the Senju and the Uchiha.

The Senju clan gained their fame in the era before the founding of the hidden villages. Where other clans focused on mastering one particular skill, the Senju were masters in all skills, from ninjutsu, to taijutsu, to genjutsu. Because of this, they were feared as "the clan with a thousand skills" (「千の手を持つ一族」, "sen no te o motsu ichizoku"), which gave them their name Senju (千手, "a thousand skills", "a thousand hands").
The most famous member of the clan was their leader, Hashirama Senju. His unique Wood Release ninjutsu even gave the clan the nickname the Senju clan of the Forest (森の千手一族, Mori no Senju Ichizoku). This Wood Release, and his ability to control the tailed beasts, made him the greatest shinobi of his time.

The Senjus' place at the top of the shinobi world was undisputed, but there was one clan that was able to stand up to them: the Uchiha clan. Whenever one country hired the Senju, their enemies would hire the Uchiha, and vice versa. This led to a rivalry between the two clans and, more specifically, between the leaders of the clans, Hashirama and Madara Uchiha.

However, in a world of constant bloodshed, Hashirama had a dream of peace, and a great love for his fellow men. Known as the "Will of Fire" (火の意志, "Hi no Ishi"), this belief made the Senju clan propose a truce to the Uchiha clan. Weary of fighting, and persuaded by Hashirama's great charisma and negotiation skill, the Uchiha accepted, ending their bloody rivalry. Only Madara was against this truce, believing the Senju would one day destroy the Uchiha clan. He was forced to accept, but his humiliation wouldn't end there.
Some time after the alliance between the Senju and the Uchiha was signed, the Land of Fire hired them to stabilise its borders, and the clans created a permanent settlement within the country. Thus, Konohagakure was founded, and, with it, the system of one Hidden Village per country. As the system spread throughout the world, the constant violence stopped, and Hashirama's dream began to become a reality. But it would soon start anew after Hashirama was elected as the First Hokage; a move Madara felt was a humiliation, and made him decide to leave the new village, eventually returning to attack it.

Throughout the years, the Senju retained their supremacy over Konoha, and made the village into what it is today. After the First Hokage's death, his younger brother, Tobirama Senju, stepped up to become the Second Hokage. Although likely not a Senju by blood, Hiruzen Sarutobi, who would become the Third Hokage after the Second's death, was trained by both the First and Second. His successor, Minato Namikaze, was the student of Jiraiya, who was a student of the Third. Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage, was not only a student of the Third, but the granddaughter of the First and the grandniece of the Second. All of them strongly held to the Will of Fire philosophy.
It is unknown if the Senju clan currently still exists as an organisation. There are no known persons with the Senju name currently alive, although the Fifth Hokage, Tsunade, might be an official Senju. It is very possible that the Senju clan disbanded into smaller clans and families, especially since they never had specific traits or techniques like the Uchiha or Hyūga clans with which to easily identify them. However, their legacy lives on strongly in the hearts of the people of Konoha.

The Abilities

The Senju clan can mix earth and water style jutsu to create the wood, but their natural chakra produces the extra life and growing capabilities of their plants. Here are some of the jutsu capable of being performed by the Senju clan. The Senju clan is also known for producing extremely skilled ninja, and centuries ago, in the dawn of the shinobi world, they were known to have mastered every single aspect of ninjutsu. They were known as, "The clan with a thousand skills". Over time, Hashirama, the Shodai Hokage, unlocked a secret ability, which subsequent generations began to develop and refine. This ability is Mokuton Ninjutsu, though to date, no one has matched the raw power employed by Hashirama Senju.


Name: Mokuton no Jutsu

Description: This is not an actual technique, but an innate ability that a Mokuton user has that allows create wooden pillars or branches from any earth they are near. It is accomplished by combining the earth and water element, creating living cells from almost nothing. They can even, to an extent, do this to their own bodies. This is a powerful ability, as they can be made to surround enemies or allies for last minute defenses, or to hold a falling structure up providing strong support. It requires only one hand seal to activate, and the branches move extremely quickly, making them difficult to dodge consistantly. Essintially a lesser version of Jukai Koutan.

Name: Moku Bunshin no Jutsu - Wood Clone Technique

Description:Moku Bunshin no Jutsu is a unique Ninjutsu technique used by the Mokuton clan. Using their ability to utilize Mokuton (wood release) techniques, the user will form handseals and cause beams of wood to emerge from their body. This wood will morph and form a clone of, capable of utilizing all the same Mokuton techniques as the original.



Name: Mokuton Jutsu - Wooden Men Technique

Description: Using their vast army of wooden clone men, the user will attack the target. If a target comes close, the chakra imbued dummies will begin to attack in various ways. The wooden men are "dumb", in that they are not able to respond to their opponents counterattack. If the charm on the wooden man is removed, the dummy is rendered useless.



Name: Mokuton Hitsugi - Wooden Men Coffin
Type: Ninjutsu

Description: Using their vast army of wooden clone men, the user will attack the target. When the target is sufficiently surrounded, the clan members will break the wooden men down into their base parts and then combine them into long rows. These rows will stack and combine to surround their target and isolate them from the outside world. The wooden parts will be imbued with the clan member’s chakra and be greatly strengthened as a result. If enough power is placed against the structure however, it can come crashing apart. This can be taken care of by adding more chakra. Must fortify against each new attack.



Name: Mokuton Soujutsu - Wooden Men Manipulation Technique

Description: Using their vast army of wooden clone men, the user will attack the target. Because these men are "dumb" and only attack randomly, a target can easily defeat them with time. This technique allows specific men to become puppets to the clan members, and obey their will. This allows the puppets to better attack and defend themselves against their target.



Name: Moku Shouheki no Jutsu - Wood Barrier Technique

Description: Using their ability to utilize Mokuton (wood release) techniques, the user will form handseals and cause beams of wood to emerge from the ground. The beams can converge to form a half spherical barrier to deflect an incoming blast.

Name: Mokuton • Henge - Wood Element Transformation

Description: Using their ability to utilize Mokuton (wood release) techniques, the user will form handseals and cause beams of wood to emerge from the ground. The beams will converge around their body to form the shape or individual he wishes to transform into. Unlike regular Henge which just transforms ones appearance, Mokuton Henge creates a physical material to hide ones appearance. This technique works best when the copied person is at least partially made out of wood.



Name: Shichuuka no Jutsu - Four Pillar Home Technique

Description: Using their ability to utilize Mokuton (wood release) techniques, the user will form handseals and cause beams of wood to emerge from the ground. These beams will converge and combine to form a dwelling of their choosing. This dwelling will resemble a normal home, with rooms and doors on the inside. In essence the technique allows the user to conjure a home from nothing, and not even have to summon it. When fortified, a powerful attack is needed to escape (chidori, rasengan, etc.). Must fortify during each new turn.



Name: Shichuurou no Jutsu - Four Pillar Prison Technique

Description: Using their ability to utilize Mokuton (wood release) techniques, the user will form handseals and cause beams of wood to emerge from the ground. These beams will converge and combine to form a prison. In essence the technique allows the user to conjure a prison from nothing, and not even have to summon it.When fortified, a powerful attack is needed to escape (chidori, rasengan, etc.). Must fortify during each new turn.





Name: Daijurin no Jutsu (Great Forest Technique)

Description: A technique that changes one's own arm into thick branches using chakra. The user then stimulates the branches with chakra, causing them to lengthen at high speed and fork into up to thirty branches. The user can then manipulate the general direction of the branches to a small extent, causing the mass to twist through the air after an opponent, but it must be in the forward direction. It is possible to capture the enemy with these branches and at the same time, if one changes the ends into sharp stakes, turn them into countless, sharp, spear-like piercing weapons.

Name: Jubaku Satsu - Tree Binding Death

Description: After forming the needed hand seals, the user will disappear and approach the target. Once near the target, a tree will grow at their feet and its branches will bind them so they can no longer move. Once the illusion makes them believe they are captured, the use will appear from the tree itself and stab their target with a kunai.

 

Name: Leaf Escape

Description: If the user comes under attack, they can use this technique to cover their escape. After forming the needed hand seals, the users body will disperse into a shower of leaves. These leaves will confuse and distract their opponent while they escapes or hide.



Name: Leaf Dissolve-

Description: If the user becomes trapped in a Genjutsu or wants to appear to be trapped they can disperse into a shower of leaves. With this technique these leaves will fly around and consume the targets, dissolving their bodies away.
